Occupational Pension Scheme is a pension scheme offered through an individual's employer. Benefits are generally paid as a lump sum, an annuity or a combination of lump sum and annuity.
The law mandates employers to establish an occupational pension scheme and appoint a trustee to provide fund administration fund trustee services for the fund. Companies who have an in-house provident fund schemes are encouraged to migrate their funds to a voluntary provident fund scheme under the new pension act (Act 766).
