is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at General Trust Limited (GENTRUST), where he oversees investment strategies, portfolio and risk management, to ensure sustainable growth and security of pension assets in trust. Before assuming this role, Edem held several positions within the company, including Head of Investments.

Prior to joining GENTRUST, Edem served as Head of Market Risk Management at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of UBA Plc where he spearheaded the development and implementation of robust risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate key market risks. Additionally, Edem occasionally served as Acting Head of Operational Risk Management, where he amongst other roles oversaw the execution of the bank’s Business Continuity Plan, ensuring operational resilience.

Earlier in his career at UBA Ghana, Edem excelled as a Corporate Dealer in the Treasury Front Office and as a Relationship Manager in the Wholesale Banking division. In these roles, he was instrumental in deal origination, managing high-value relationships with financial institutions, embassies, multilateral organizations, insurance companies and fund managers. He also played a pivotal role in managing the staff provident fund, working closely with fund trustees to ensure optimal performance.

Before joining UBA, Edem worked as Project Manager at Brooks Support Services, a leading events and business support services company in Ghana, where he coordinated inter-agency programs, prepared competitive technical proposals, and managed a number of corporate, national and international programs.

Edem has over eighteen years of professional experience. He holds an MPhil in Industrial Finance and Investments and a BSc in Natural Resources Management, both from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He also holds a certificate in the Ghana Securities Industry Course from the Ghana Stock Exchange and several professional certifications in pensions, credit, treasury, private equity, venture capital, and market risk management.

Edem is an alumnus of the esteemed Duke of Edinburgh CSC Leadership Conferences, Canada, and a member of the inaugural cohort of the Africa Venture Capital Association (AVCA) KEI, Ghana.
